Installing Resolution

You will need to run the install package from a user account with sufficient rights to install software. If you are unsure contact your system administrator.

Once running the installer package will attempt to download any required installer files from the web that are not already present on your machine. Once these files are downloaded the install will continue and you will be presented with the following dialog.

By clicking the 'Next' button you will be taken to the License Agreement dialog. If you wish to install and use Resolution you must click 'Yes' and accept the agreement. You can press the PAGE DOWN key on your keyboard to view the entire agreement; alternatively a copy of the agreement is included in this help file.

If you do not wish to accept the agreement click 'No' and delete the install package.

Once you have clicked 'Yes', you will be asked to supply your user name and a company name. These fields will be pre-populated with values from the current Windows user.

You will be given the choice of allowing only the current user, or all users of this computer to run Resolution.

Next you will be asked to provide a destination folder into which to install Resolution. The default folder is suitable for most installations. If you wish to change the installation directory, click the 'Browse' button and select the desired directory.

Next you will be asked to select a setup type. In most cases this will be 'Typical', however if you wish to conserve hard drive space at the expense of some features then you can select 'Compact'. For total control over which parts of the program are installed, select 'Custom'.

It should be noted that you can install components for which you do not have a license. These will be disabled when Resolution is run and their functions will not be available. The 30-day trial license allows a user to run all components.

Once you have selected the setup type click 'Next'. You are now given the chance to review the selections that you have made. You can use the 'Back' button to return to an earlier dialog and change settings.

Once you have clicked 'Next' Resolution will be installed on your computer.

Once this is done you may be asked to restart you computer to finish the installation.

Resolution installation will now be complete. Resolution at this point or later from the icon on the desktop or from the start menu.
